Discover Moston

Country parks, local history and football

With Moston Station just a ten-minute stroll away, we’re the perfect jumping-off point for the city centre or a celebratory finish to your day out. Just one stop from Manchester Victoria, the Gardeners Arms puts you minutes from the buzz of the city while keeping you rooted in North Manchester’s best green spaces and local landmarks.

Whether you’re heading to Broadhurst Park to cheer on FC United, or swapping the city streets for the ancient, wooded trails of Boggart Hole Clough, we’re right at the heart of the action. You can even take a walk-through time to see the 16th-century Hough Hall just down the lane before settling in for the evening.

Whether you’re here for the football, the fresh air, or just dodging the city centre crowds, you’ll always find a warm welcome and a locally brewed pint at the Gardeners Arms.

Local Area

FC United of Manchester

Match day done right. We are a proud local for FC United of Manchester fans. Broadhurst Park is the first fan-owned stadium of its scale in the UK, built on grit and community spirit. On game days, the atmosphere here at the Gardeners is electric. Swing by for a crisp lager before kick-off or head back for a post-match celebration.

Boggart Hole Clough

Ancient woods and urban legends. This 171-acre park is famous for its 'Boggart' a mischievous spirit said to haunt the ravine. It’s got 5,000 years of history, a boating lake, and 'The 99 Steps.' After you’ve braved the haunted woods or finished a run on the athletics track, we’ve got a cold pint waiting to settle your nerves.

Blackley Golf Club

Whether you’ve spent the morning navigating the water hazards or you’re just there to enjoy the views from the balcony, the Gardeners Arms is the official '19th hole' for the local game. We’re the perfect spot to swap scorecards over a 3-mile fresh pint of Manchester Craft Lager or a round of traditional Bitter. From society days to Saturday four-balls, we provide the proper Mancunian welcome every golfer deserves after a day on the fairways.
